Yasuhiro Otsuka: TATEHO CHEMICALS CO., LTD. — Application Fields and Future Prospects of
Magnesium Oxide-Based Ceramics
【Abstract】
Since its founding in 1966, Tateho Chemicals has developed functional materials centered on high-purity magnesium oxide derived from bittern. In recent years, the company has focused on chemical heat storage materials utilizing the reversible reaction between MgO and water vapor. By reducing the reaction temperature and accelerating reaction rates, effective utilization of low- temperature waste heat has been achieved. Ongoing improvements in the strength, durability, and thermal conductivity of molded bodies are expected to contribute to practical implementation and carbon neutrality.
