As part of our community engagement activities, our company conducts outreach classes in which young employees visit elementary schools near our plant and introduce magnesium oxide through hands-on experiments.
This year, classes were held at Une Elementary School on February 26 and at Josai Elementary School on March 17. In addition to providing an overview of our business, we helped students deepen their understanding of the properties of magnesium oxide—such as heat resistance and thermal conductivity—through experiments. In particular, demonstrations of the characteristic fracture patterns of crystals and static electricity experiments using a Leiden jar attracted strong interest from the students.
Through these activities, we aim not only to inspire an interest in chemistry among students but also to provide our employees with a valuable opportunity to reaffirm the role and social value of our company. We will continue to cherish our connection with the local community and actively promote community engagement initiatives.
